Music camp for adults

Campers will explore the geological features and history of coastal Rhode Island.

Throughout the week, campers will conduct field investigations and apply scientific techniques to sample sediments, survey beaches, and investigate how coastal RI habitats differ and may be changing. Recreation experts will teach everything from swimming in the water, sailing or kayaking on the water, or learning to rescue people from the water throughout the summer.

Land lovers may enjoy camps for soccer, baseball, athletic performance training and a host of other programs. More than 4,000 people enroll in summer sessions at URI each year.

There are hundreds of course selections from African American Studies to Writing, with offerings from every college of the University; including Business, Pharmacy, Engineering and Nursing.

The Music Department offers three summer camps for youth: July 10–15, 2017, String Camp 2017, Artistic Director Emily Chen. This full day string camp is open to all students of bowed string instruments from grades 3-12 and will offer a variety of high quality music courses, including string orchestra, small chamber ensembles, music history and theory classes, interactive workshops, evening concerts and activities, and guest performances.
